FAQ
Questions facility teams actually ask.
Pricing, lead times, insurance, warranty — written so you don't have to call to get the basics.
What types of projects does RADSB take on?+
Loading dock equipment, structural mezzanines, OSHA-compliant industrial stairs and platforms, safety guardrail and bollards, pre-engineered metal building additions, and ongoing maintenance contracts for these systems.
Where do you work?+
Concord is our headquarters; we self-perform across the Bay Area, the Sacramento corridor, and the northern Central Valley. If you're outside that radius, call and we'll be honest about whether it's a fit.
Are you licensed and insured?+
Yes. CSLB Class B (General Building) and C-51 (Structural Steel), current general liability and workers' compensation, and we issue Certificates of Insurance with additional insured endorsements before mobilization.
Do you self-perform or sub the work?+
Field crews are RADSB W-2 employees. Specialty trades (electrical, sprinkler relocations) are subcontracted when needed and managed by us — never pass-through billing.
How do you price projects?+
Fixed-price, line-itemed proposals with payment milestones tied to deliverables. We do not run open time-and-materials engagements except for emergency service calls.
How long does a typical project take?+
From site walk to proposal: 5–10 business days. Lead time depends on scope — dock equipment 4–6 weeks, mezzanines 8–12 weeks, metal buildings 16–22 weeks. Engineering is stamped before mobilization.
Can you work in an active facility?+
Most of our work is in live facilities. We plan around shift schedules, mobilize off-hours when needed, and host pre-construction meetings with your operations, facilities, and safety leads.
Do you pull permits?+
Yes. We pull all required structural, building, and equipment permits, and coordinate fire marshal inspections where applicable.
Do you provide stamped engineering?+
Yes, for all structural work — mezzanines, metal buildings, equipment platforms, guardrails anchored to engineered substrates. Stamps are California PE, included in the contract price.
What's your warranty?+
One-year minimum workmanship warranty, plus the equipment manufacturer's OEM warranty on dock levelers, restraints, and seals. Many clients move into a quarterly PM contract starting in year two.
Do you offer emergency service?+
Yes — 24/7 for clients on a maintenance contract; same-week response for non-contract clients depending on parts availability.
What information do you need for a quote?+
An initial conversation about scope, then a site walk. We don't quote sight-unseen on anything more involved than a single piece of equipment.
Can you match existing tilt-up panel finishes?+
For metal building additions, yes. We've matched aged tilt-up textures across multiple distribution facilities — sample mockups before commitment.
What dock equipment manufacturers do you carry?+
We're equipment-agnostic. We spec around the operation and recommend manufacturers based on duty cycle, parts availability, and service history in the region.
Do you handle dock pit reconstruction?+
Yes — full pit demo and re-pour, vapor barriers where required, sloped drainage for cold-side or sanitary applications.
Can you upgrade non-compliant guardrails to Cal/OSHA standard?+
Yes. We typically replace bolted pipe rail with welded structural steel anchored to engineered slabs. Full guardrail surveys included on request.
What's included in a quarterly PM contract?+
On-site inspection of each dock position, lubrication, hardware checks, lip-pin and chain inspection, dock seal condition report, restraint testing, and a digital report after every visit.
Do you carry mezzanine designs in-house?+
We work with a regular roster of California-licensed structural engineers. Engineering is integrated into the proposal — not a separate negotiation after award.
Will I have a single point of contact?+
Yes. One project lead from site walk through warranty. Lead PMs carry no more than six active projects so they can stay accessible.
How do I get started?+
Call (925) 567-4832 or email ops@radsb.com with a sentence about your facility and scope. We'll schedule a site walk within the week.
Ready to scope a project?
Talk to a project lead this week.
Tell us about your facility and timeline. We'll review the site, line up the engineering, and come back with a clear, line-itemed proposal.
